Foundations
Thirty years ago a group of family court judges along with concerned leaders in the community founded, what was then, Anderson Youth Treatment Center. The center began as a small boys’ home on Country Home Road in Anderson, South Carolina in 1974.The center grew to become Anderson Youth Association and added a girls home in 1976, Supervised Independent Living services in 1988, and a Crisis Stabilization Program in 1990. Over the course of the following decade the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program, two Clinical Day Programs, Wrap Around Services, two other Supervised Independent Living programs, the Family Counseling Center, and Therapeutic Family Services in eight upstate South Carolina counties were added.
New Foundations
In 2000, Anderson Youth Association became New Foundations Children & Family Services, Inc. We continued under that name for almost 10 years until we reached who we are today, New Foundations Home For Children. This name change allowed us to better appeal as a children's home.
We will continue to be relentless in our pursuit to keep children safe, provide necessary treatment interventions, and strengthen families. The staff and volunteers of New Foundations believe that this is the very framework by which the agency was built and we will continue to do our part to honor so many that have dedicated their time, energy, and efforts in helping the children and families of South Carolina.
